I am passionate about people. I aim to capture individual nuances of feeling
and heightened emotional states.
The alchemy of oil paint fascinates me: working with slippery, sliding goo or liquidity or making encrusted tracks. Colour is a natural right . . . and so is abstraction . . . and loose mark-making . . .
I love creating “live” works, drawing a few swift lines to capture movement, mood, fleeting sensations. Life drawing is a never-ending delight, especially with charcoal chunks. I work in most media, except acrylic.
